Optimise Your LinkedIn Profile!
February 9, 2024Want to optimise your LinkedIn profile?
LinkedIn is usually the first click for recruiters and hiring managers.
Here’s my 5 easy steps to stand out that little bit more.
1. Headline
Make it clear and concise – your primary job role(s) – a few words max here, no need to list everything you do in this section (part-time wedding DJ etc), you can do that later.
2. Summary / About Section
– A chance to expand on what your expertise are and what you want to focus on / areas of interest – ideally, your summary should be around 3–5 short paragraphs long.
– This should be used to sell yourself through listing several of your key achievements in recent roles.
– Always helpful to list brands and companies you’ve worked closely with and link to any relevant case studies if possible.
– Inject a bit of personality where possible
3. Experience
– Be specific, how did your work benefit to company i.e. sales figures hit, awards won, positive campaign results
– Use numbers to back up your achievements
– Don’t be afraid to name the clients and sectors you’ve worked across (recruiters will often search on these keywords)
4. Add Keywords, Skills and Industry affiliations
For example, marketing and advertising, ecommerce, MMM, PPC, paid social, programmatic etc – recruiters will search under these specific areas and keywords
5. Add recommendations from managers, colleagues and clients
These are like mini references!
